By the river

On 10th May, 2019, teachers Daniela Stefanovska and Hatixhe Memeti with first grade students carried out the daily activity “By the river” from the monthly topic “Spring in my country” as part of the Eco section of the Annual Program for extracurricular intercultural activities.In order to warm up, relax and create a pleasant working atmosphere, the activity started with an introductory game. The activity continued with work in groups in which students made elements of an environment by the river. The worksheet, on which a clean and unclean environment by the river was pictured, was exhibited in the hall of the school.The aims of this activity are: to support children’s curiosity for studying and researching natural phenomena, to encourage students to independently monitor changes in nature, to stimulate positive environment in the group, as well as to sensitize students for more possible ways of utilization of waste materials in the household.

Flower to flower

On 20th March, 2019, teachers Daniela Stefanovska and Hatixhe Memeti with first grade students carried out the daily activity “Flower shop” from the monthly topic “Flower to flower” as part of the Eco section of the Annual Program for extracurricular intercultural activities.

The activity started with an introductory game which the students played in pairs and through which they discovered the topic of the activity. Then, students divided into groups created various flowers, using color paper, collage and plastic plates.

The aim of this activity is to encourage students to independently monitor the changes occuring in nature, expand the children’s experience on natural phenomena, as well as to perceive their interconnection, sensitize students for possible ways of using waste materials in the household, and to encourage children’s originality and innovation in creating new products with plastic waste material.

Glass bottles

On 21st February, 2019, teachers Daniela Stefanovska and Hatixhe Memeti with first grade students carried out the daily activity “Glass bottles” from the monthly topic “Games with glass” as part of the Eco section of the Annual Program for extracurricular intercultural activities.

In order to create a pleasant working atmosphere, the activity started with a game. Then, students divided into groups, decorated glass bottles according to their taste.

The aim of this activity is to encourage the development of children’s imagination and creative potential, to encourage students to actively use the newly adopted terms in everyday speech, to develop a habit of proper and safe disposing of glass waste as well as to support a habit of regularly maintaining the family home.

“Forest animals”

On 26 November, 2018, teachers Daniela Stefanovska and Hatixhe Memeti carried out the daily activity “Forest animals” from the monthly topic “Autumn in my country” from the Eco section of the Annual Program for extracurricular intercultural activities for the first grade.

Students divided onto groups discussed about the changes in the flora and fauna with the arrival of autum. For the implementation of this activity, they used different leaves, school supplies and presented several animals with which they made a distinction between the different kinds of animals.

The aim of this activity is to stimulate the student’s creative potential, to raise awareness about the changes occurring in the plant and animal world in autumn period and recognition of the forest animals,which they proved with their final creations.

“Chestnuts”

On October 25, 2018, teachers Daniela Stefanovska and Hatixhe Memeti together with their first grade students carried out the daily activity “Chestnuts” as part of the monthly topic “Autumn fruits” from the Eco Section of the Annual Program for intercultural extracurricular activities.

Students divided into groups used different materials that can be found in nature and school supplies. By combining them, they modelled interesting shapes and were introduced to the differences between living and non-living nature. During the activity, the students cooperated by exchanging tools and materials and helping one another.

The purpose of this activity is to stimulate the children’s creative potential and constructive cooperation, to strengthen the interaction among the children and sense of belonging to the group.

May flowers

On May 16, 2018 teachers Daniela Stefanovska and Hatidze Memeti realized the extracurricular activity titled “May flowers” within the Eco-section.

The goals of the extracurricular activitiy were:

encouraging mutual successful group and tandem cooperation;
maintaining a positive socio-emotional climate in the group;
encouraging students for non-verbal communication in a bilingual environment;
strengthening students’ self-esteem;
promotion of children’s originality, creativity;
developing a responsible and active attitude towards group tasks;
encouraging students to independently monitor changes in nature, as well as their careful pictorial recording;
Enhancing children’s experience for various situations in nature, as well as perceiving their interconnectedness.

During the activities, the students together made spring decorations and crafts with flawors.

April parade

On April 3, 2018, teachers Daniela Stefanovska and Hatidze Memeti realized the activity “April parade”. The objectives of the activity were:

-Exploring connections between animal and plants;
-Encouraging caring attitude towards animals;
– Encouraging a positive mood in the group;
– Strengthening interaction among the children and strengthening group cohesion;
– Encouraging memory and adopting words in non-native language;
– Developing children’s fantasy and creative potential.

“We prepare 3 benches with working materials in the classroom. The masks are pre-made by the teachers on white sheets of paper. Students choose the masks randomly, as the masks are turned upside down while they choose. The students paint the masks with wooden crayons and add cotton or wool, cut them and tie them with wool strings. After they are finished, the students put the masks on their face while the teachers help them tie. At the end of the activity, the students perform movements and mimics according to their masks. The masks are attached to a white poster and each student writes their name next to it with a marker” D. Stefanovska and H. Memeti.

Flower bouquets

On March 12, 2018 teachers Daniela Stefanovska and Hatidze Memeti realized the activity “Flower bouquets” within the Eco-section. The objectives of the activity were:
– Encouraging students to independently monitor changes in nature, as well as their image recording;

Winter sports

On February 15, 2018 teachers Merlin Stojanovska and Zejne Bajrami realized the planned project activity with the students as part of the Art section and monthly theme “Winter experience”. The aims of the activity were: deepening of children’s knowledge and interest in winter sports; encouraging the creativity of students for working with different materials; maintaining positive climate in the classroom and encouraging mutual cooperation in the group.

Polar Winter

On February 15, 2018 teachers Merlin Stojanovska and Zejne Bajrami realized the planned project activity with the students. The aims of the activity were: deepening of children’s knowledge and interest in polar areas, animals living in the North Pole, polar bears, penguins, seals, dolphins; encouraging the creativity of students for working with different materials; maintaining positive climate in the classroom and encouraging mutual cooperation in the group.
